Valley Christian Counseling Center is proud of it's well-educated, competent and caring staff.  Please meet our counselors:

 

Rev. Dan Borsheim is the founding Director and pastoral counselor of VCCC. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Relations and Child Development from North Dakota State University. Dan also has a master's degree in Theology from Western Seminary in Portland, OR. He is an ordained minister with over 25 years of experience in marriage, family, and individual counseling. Dan also facilitates support groups for men’s issues.


Dr. Lori Rottman is a Licensed Psychologist. She graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Dr. Rottman received her master’s degree and doctorate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She provides psychotherapy for adults, both individuals and couples, as well as adolescents.


Ellen Zaeske is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has a Master of Education degree in Clinical Counseling and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from North Dakota State University. Ellen works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Ellen’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues. She is also a Christian Spiritual Director having completed training at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation.


Sharon Solum is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in ND and a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in MN. She has a Master of Science degree in Child Development and Family Science, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, from North Dakota State University. Her undergraduate degrees are in Psychology and Sociology. Sharon provides services for individuals, couples, and families. She facilitates groups which promote dependence on God through exploring family of origin, codependency, and relationship issues.


Ron Sundquist is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  He has a Master of Education degree in Counseling with an undergraduate degree in Education, both from North Dakota State University. Ron provides career, individual, marriage, and family counseling.  He also facilitates men's support groups.


Lisa Askew is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Dakota and her Master of Counseling and Guidance degree from North Dakota State University.  Lisa works with adults, both individuals and couples. Her areas of interest are self-esteem, communication skills, depression, anxiety, and family of origin issues. Lisa also faciliates support groups.


Naomi Erkenbrack is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.  She received her Master of Social Work degree, Marriage and Family Therapy Certificate, and Trauma Counseling Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead.  She has specialized training in Attachment Therapy and EMDR.  Naomi provides psychotherapy to families, children, adults, and couples.


Sarah Stigen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated from North Dakota State University with a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Sarah works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She also provides premarital and marital therapy.  


Dr. Larry Watnemo is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and an Ordained Clergyman with the Evangelical Free Church of America. Larry received his master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois and has his Doctor of Ministry degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Denver Seminary. Larry provides premarital, marriage, individual, family, and adolescent therapy.
