Valley Christian Counseling Center was born in 1991 out of a conversation between a Christian physician named Dr. David Todd and a group of local pastors representing churches in the Fargo-Moorhead area. They asked each other, “Where can I send a hurting person to receive skilled counseling that is in harmony with Biblical Christianity?” The silence that followed created a conviction to act together. Dr. Todd and a task force of pastors and other professionals prayed and planned and worked to establish Valley Christian Counseling Center.

Valley Christian Counseling Center is governed by a Board of Directors representing several area churches. I have been the Center’s CEO and counselor since the beginning. In the early days I was the only counselor on staff. In these 18 years of operation we have added several other counselors from a variety of mental health disciplines. These Christian counselors bring a valuable mix of expertise and experience to the Center. Those dealing with depression, addictions, marital stress, eating disorders, child and adolescent issues, mental illness, and many other of life’s struggles can receive help and hope and prayer from a caring, skilled, Christian professional.
God has been good to our Center. I have seen many lives touched and helped over these years through a wonderful staff that I feel He has put together. For me, it’s been a unique journey of trusting God and watching Him work.
